My first article assignment over at simple scrappers was posted this week,and its all about the art form of scrap lifting,whit a twist.I have seen alot of scrap lift challenges lately,and felt who better to scrap lift,than yourself.I wanted to take it a step farther and pick a much older layout to redo with my new style.I chose this layout I created over two years ago of Aubrielle on her bike.I flipped the layout and came out with this new layout using some mixed lines from Crate Paper.I loved the new layout.If you get the chance,you can peek the whole article HERE Also check out the step class over at Scrap Fit,Sheila shows us how to make our own pins for our projects!We would love for you to play along!

let it snow!

It has not been much of a winter here in Maryland this year.In fact as I write this,the snowfall that occurred early this morning,is now all melting away with a quickness,but the magic of the large flakes were great while they lasted!I was able to bring Kenzie out to see it coming down,and she was adorable trying to catch them on her tiny fingers!
On another note,I wanted to shae a quick layout with you for Dixie Pieces using the March kit.I love the colors in this layout,so beautiful and inspiring!I just loved how it made my photo of the girls truly pop!Also,if you have the time to play along,don't forget to check out the weekend warmup over at Scrap fit.Missy came up with such a fun idea with color,you have until the 18th to play along!

1000 post

Yesterday marked Simple Scrappers 1,000th post!What a great milestone!There have been soo many amazingly use full topics covered from technical aspects like how to keep your backup files safe,to your story telling by finding more stories in your photo sets.I personally love the article on making peace with imperfect photos.I have become far more interested in the storytelling aspect of scrapbooking as of late, but my chosen photos has always been a struggle. I tend to go for the “pretty” photos first, but I need to remember that sometimes those don’t tell the story in the best ways. This is a great reminder that this is alright!

I am just IN LOVE with this months Scrapbook Circle Kit,Remember This.I just had to play along with their monthly Challenge.I love all of the patterns in this kit,and I am especially in love with the October Afternoon Flower Sack.I already knew that October Afternoon was amazing,but these are genius.I love the simplicity in the precut shapes!This Layout came together soo easily,i even snuck in a hidden journaling spot( i am not a big one for interactive layouts,but i am growing to love this idea more often as of late).

ninja training

What do you do when you find yourself doing the dishes and your three year old daughter walks in the room announcing to you ,very seriously,that she is in the other room teaching your 8 month old daughter"how to be a ninja"?Now fist off,let me say,they were all safe,baby in her bouncer seat,strapped down,so I knew it wasn't dangerous.Do you giggle at the thought,How do you encourage her creativity,without allowing violence?
Lucky for me,my three year old seems to hold the attention span of a guppy,and quickly changed her activity to one of sweeter intentions,so today we laugh at her thoughts,and prepare for what I can only imagine will come on another day!Speaking of my 8 month old though,she is growing just so quickly.I had captured her little sweet face around 3 weeks old,and scrapped to remember,using Coloring Book.I loved how this kit was so very versatile.I also wanted to hare a peek of what I have been working on with next months kit,up for grabs in just a few days!It features alot of great Authentique and Echo Park.

it is a gorgeous day!

The sun is shining,the weather is warm,and it is the end of the week.It cannot get much better!I have plans to clean all weekend,with hopes of squeezing some scrapping in!It just dawned on me that there is only 4 months left before the "big move".I figure the more I can organize and purge now,the less stressful the move across country this July will be!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines day.Ours was filled with some gifts,some bowling,and lots of cuddles.Speaking of cuddles,and kisses too;I created this fun layout for Scrap Fits new challenge.Its all about x's and o's!I chose to document my favorite moments with my baby girls;feedingtime when they grasp your finger and stare up with their big ole eyes!theres nothing more perfect!If you can,hop on over and see what the other ladies did with this sweet idea and I hope you get the chance to play along!

could have been a better start to my week...

So the Patriots Lost,but the Giants looked soo happy for their deserved victory that i couldnt be too upset!Plus how can I complain,i had Great Friends to share the night with and this pretty girl all dressed up to cheer!
I finally got the chance to snap a pic of this fun layout I made this weekend using an awesome sketch from Elles studio and the new weekend warm up over at Scrap Fit!(making some clusters!)I had just stocked up on some more tags and was itching to use them!I love how it turned out.The pop of turquoise is just soo vibrant and fun here!And of course my little embellishmnet cluster atop my photo!


On another note,hubby went away on travel for the week,so i am wishing for two expected scrappy packages to arrive any day now to fill my late nights!(update:Just found two boxes at my door step,i guess i know what i will be doing all week,and its not the laundry ;) )

coloring book

Check out this months kit at Dixie Pieces.I have to be honest,i am a personal fan of lots of color and working with patterned paper full of color,so this kit was a fun twist for me,and may i be honest,a bit of a challenge.I had to step outside of my natural steps to add the color to my projects.One way I added color was with a blue mist from my stash.I had been stashing this scrap frame away for years now,waiting for the right time,and found it with the help of the doodle bug letters and some mist.Little L has been coming home weekly with fun art work that i would love to showcase in a special manner,so I created this fun frame(which I plan to use as a mat within a frame,yet to be chosen and purchased).I am happy with the look,and cannot wait to hang it in the playroom!Now I am off to finish up last minute super bowl touches.I hope everyone has a great and safe superbowl,i hope to hop on and share pics of our night tomorrow!!

its a beautiful day

I cannot tell you enough just how gorgeous it is here today.It was a beautiful and warm day,up in the low 70's.It was soo nice to get outside to let the girls run around,it has been just soo cold lately,and this crazy warm weather rolled in!Aside from it being a beautiful day,its also the first of the month!This month brings two new scrappy teams for me at Dixie Pieces and Simple Scrapper.It also means a fun new kit at Dixie Pieces.I made this fun layout with this months kit,which i will share with yall tomorrow.With my very first challenge over at Scrap Fit,to use an all white background,I created this fun layout.I was challenged with the new kit,as it contains very little-to no color and focuses mainly on Black and White paper,so I created my own paper with a fun stamp,then I traced and hand cut a chevron paper.What a fun way to crate a fun element for a birthday party!I loved the challenge,and pushed myself a bit farther than i have in a longtime,which was a great time!Please stop on over to Scrap Fit and see what all the other ladies did with the challenge,and come back to peek at the new kit "coloring book" tomorrow!

where has the time gone

We have been under the weather in the Marshall House this week,i have not had the time or energy for laundry,let alone my blog,But I had to get on and share some fun news,I have been asked to join the design team at Simple Scrapper.Its a great site for scrappers of all variety,be taht digital,hybrid,or paper scrappers!They Have a great membership which shares great templates,free dowloads,and loads of information to make your scrapping process ,well,more simple!I wish I had discovered this site sooner.I certainly struggled the past few years to weed through the inspiration and settle on my personal scrapbooking style,in a place where I can create confidently,and without inner conflict.We on the design team all had the opportunity to create a layout with the choice of some great sketch templates,We each chose an older template to work with and a task at hand.
My task,to chose a sketch template to work with and flip it 180 degrees.Easy Paesy.I chose to work with the Simple Scrappers Premium membership collection;July 2011 template #1,which you can view,among with other great templates by becoming a premium member onsite!
The Premium Membership at Simple Scrapper provides skills and shortcuts to help you simplify and find more meaning in your memory keeping.

happy day!

I am beyond excited for two reasons today.First off,i had the time to set aside and finish a non-design team layout,all for great reasoning.I made this using the very last Sketchy Thursdays sketch.So sad to see such great inspiration come to an end.I have been soo inspired by Diana and Heidi's sketchs the past few years.I dipped into the Noel Mignon January Kit to create this.I love the result.
Another reason to be happy,is taht Kenzie popped her very first little baby tooth tonight!She has been a teether in training since she was around 3 months old,I am surprised it took this long!Her reward,a highly mushed,slowly fed,goldfish cracker.I am counting the days left with the cute toothless grin before the tooth can be seen and not just felt,for these are my favorite kind of smiles!

40 weeks

I can say with all of my heart,that becoming a monther continues to be the most rewarding experience to date.There is no feeling like holding your child, made from love, in your arms.I have had the blessing of experiencing this feeling three times now,and have thought that there must be no other feeling like this in the world.This all was until I gave my girls of the blessing of becoming big sisters.The look on their faces of this miracle is like non-other,and that is when the realization occurs that hubby and I are not the one's waiting for the long 40 weeks.As little as the girls were at each birth,I thought that they could not fully comprehend the situation,that is until you see the light in their eyes.What a miracle it is to give your children such a miraculous blessing!

the ups and downs ...

i cannot believe that we are just 4 days into the new year and i have already had some ups and downs.A major up is that i scored a super awesome storage tier out in town the other day( i promise to get pics up soon ).To counteract this greatness,i have recieved the news that not only am i anemic(that would explain why my toes are always freezing to the bone),but i also have an astigmatism in my left eye,causing a sensativity to light,which is the cause of my horendous night vision on the road,but can i tell you i found the cutest frames to sport!One more fun up,I can share tomorrow,lets just say that the noel mignon kit i just got in the mail yesterday will help me with this new stint!

my blog has not let me post for months,i Have been making posts but i cannot jit the post button to post it!VERY frustrating,i have felt lost with no way to share my passion with everyone.well I randomly looked into everything today and it seems to be working,so fingers crossed the problem stays at bay!We have been busy with the holiday here.We made a "zombie"nutcracker,a paper firplace to hang the stockings by,gingerbread houses.We visited who-ville and santa.Santa in return visited us,bringing lots of goodies!And wouldnt you know that i even managed to make a few layouts in between!I created these layouts for Dixie Pieces using there super fun December kit Junk Drawer.How cute is that kit right?I know that the month is just about over but there are still some to grab in the store before we reveal next months sweet kit!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and got some scrappy goodness in also!

It has not been letting me post the past week!not sure the problem but i have made multiple duplicate posts and they will not post,how frustrating!!!So rather than play catch up now that it is letting me post again,i will wait for the craziness of the holidays to wrap up so i can share some scrappy goodness!Until then,i am working on some fun new projects using next months Dixie Pieces kit,which is soo fun BTW! i hope everyone is not too frazzled with the upcoming holiday!I know it is about to get crazy around here!

It was Dixie Pieces 4th birthday this past weekend.We had lots of fun at the crop this weekend,and there is still a week to go before the entries need to be completed for a chance to win some great prizes!I made this layout for the celebration as a designer challenge.I simply challenged everyone to use the #4 on a layout,somewhere,some how!Easy Peasy!I just LOVED this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch and just had to use it with some Crate paper and Orm0lu,which must I say is very lush.i love there products!

where does the time go?

Every day comes too quickly ad the sun disappears too soon.I have been working on my first Dixie Pieces kit,leaving little time to scrap otherwise,but I did manage to squeak out this layout based on a sketchy Thursday sketch.I got big D to do a spur of the whim photo shoot of the family a few weekends ago,and we got some fun shots,including this one.i am just a sucker for feet shots!
